Ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming National Day celebration, the Spiritual Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has strongly advised President Bola Tinubu to call off the scheduled October 1st Independence Day parade, citing imminent danger.

The prominent cleric delivered the stern warning to the presidency in a video message broadcast on X (formerly Twitter). He emphasized that pressing forward with the annual ceremonial gathering could trigger critical security or spiritual consequences for the country.

“October 1st, President Tinubu should cancel the parade. If he attempts to go ahead with it, there is danger in it,” Ayodele cautioned in the widely circulated video, urging the administration to prioritize national safety over public festivities.

Beyond his immediate warning to the federal government, the spiritual leader shifted his focus to the political future of the country. He addressed the general public regarding the upcoming 2027 general elections, which are already generating early political maneuvering.

Primate Ayodele explicitly urged Nigerians to resist any form of financial inducement or vote-buying from desperate politicians ahead of the polls. He advised citizens to vote strictly according to their conscience for leaders who are genuinely committed to public service.

“And to Nigerians, don’t collect anything from any politician because of the election. Vote your conscience. Vote for the right people. Vote for people who will truly serve the interest of the people,” the cleric stated.
