The initiative demands institutional immortalisation for Mr. Michael Oyedokun, the dedicated schoolteacher brutally killed while in captivity.

THENEWSCREDIT reports that the public appeal, spearheaded by citizen advocate Olarinde Feyisayo, explicitly calls on the Oyo State Government led by Governor Seyi Makinde to preserve the memory of the deceased educator. Feyisayo is officially petitioning the state administration and relevant academic authorities to rename a frontline secondary school in the affected council area. The proposed name submitted in the public manifest is Michael Oyedokun Memorial Grammar School, located in Orire, Esinele, Oyo State.

He was captured alongside dozens of pupils during a brazen, multi-school coordinate raid launched by heavily armed bandits on May 15. He was subsequently targeted and killed by his captors to send a grim message to state authorities.
