Nollywood actress, Victoria Akanke Ajibola, popularly known as Omo Local, has narrated how she and her best friend got pregnant for her husband at the same time. The actress made this known during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV. Speaking for the first time on why she divorced her husband, Omo Local disclosed that her best friend was three months pregnant for her husband while her pregnancy was five months. Narrating the incident, Omo Local explained that she was traumatized and attempted suicide because of the shame. “I was five months pregnant, my best friend was also three months pregnant for my husband. The trauma was so much to the extent that I took poison because of shame,” she said. When asked about the friend, she answered, “Anyway, I don’t know about her whereabouts anymore. Maybe she’s still together with my ex-husband, I don’t know, but they had about three (children) together after I left him.”

Details emerged on Monday on how a man died in a fire incident which occurred at Lafia Hotel, in Ilorin, last Thursday. The fire outbreak occurred at about 23:38 hours at the hotel along Coca-Cola road in the state capital, in an apartment used for short-let purposes. The unidentified man was burnt beyond recognition according to graphic pictures on the incident. Details of the incident indicated that the man allegedly lodged in the room of one of the female occupants engaged in commercial sex to probably pass the night. Findings by THENEWSCREDIT revealed that before the fire outbreak, the lady who went out to buy some items, locked the man inside the room as it was against the rules of the hotel management for women to keep men overnight in the facility. Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, have commenced investigation into the incident, as all the sex workers have deserted the facility. The fire incident which was reportedly triggered by power surge involved a building comprising two flats with three bedrooms each, all of which were affected by the fire. The entire building was heavily engulfed in smoke, making escape extremely difficult for occupants. According to the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was attributed to a power surge, as the outbreak reportedly occurred immediately after power supply was restored, leading to rapid fire spread across the building. “Firefighters arrived promptly and brought the fire under control at about 23:51hrs.”

Dangote Refinery has increased its Premium Motor Spirit gantry price. The 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery increased its petrol price to N874 per liter, up from N799. This means that the African’s largest refinery adjusted its petrol price by N75 per liter on Monday. The spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Chinedu Ukadike, confirmed Dangote Refinery’s price hike to THENEWSCREDIT exclusively on Monday. According to him, the move comes amid a hike in global crude oil prices following the Iran-United States-Israel conflict escalation in the past three days. “It is due to global crude oil price volatility following the Iran-US-Israel war. It is the ripple effect of ongoing conflict,” he told THENEWSCREDIT. According to him, the development would trigger a retail fuel price hike nationwide. THENEWSCREDIT reports that on Monday, Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude blends rose to $78.50 and $71.84 per barrel, respectively, up from $72.87 and $67.02 on Saturday. Recall that on January 27, Dangote Refinery had hiked its petrol price by N100 per liter to 799 per liter.

Popular Nigerian actress, Eniola Badmus, has threatened legal action against an X user who accused her of pimping girls to top Nigerian politicians for money. An X user @Femzydr1 on Thursday morning accused the actress of prostitution, and linking young girls with politicians and movie executives. He claimed that Eniola Badmus, who is currently the Special Assistant to Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, secured her political appointment through her private pimping network. While accusing her of exploiting young girls, the user stated that many of those girls have been used by politicians for different purposes. Denying the allegations on X, the actress threatened to take legal action against the user, noting that she doesn’t have a forgiven spirit. Reposting the post, Eniola wrote; “This is the attention you’ve been craving for, so let’s get into it. This is a false accusation and the authorities will step in. Twenty-five members of the Osun State House of Assembly, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general election, have defected to the Accord Party. The lawmakers announced their defection on Friday, following in the footsteps of the governor, Ademola Adeleke, who in December 2025 dumped the PDP for Accord, where he has been cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission to contest the August 15 Osun governorship poll. In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, and obtained by THENEWSCREDIT, the lawmakers said they reached the decision to join Adeleke in Accord Party during their parliamentary meeting. “After the parliamentary meeting, they proceeded to the Banquet Hall to meet with the governor and top Accord Party leaders, where the formal declaration was officially made by the Speaker. “They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Governor, His Excellency Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, and their commitment to quality representation, transparency and responsive leadership. “The defecting members also urged their supporters and well-wishers to remain steadfast and join them as they embark on this new political chapter. “They further noted that their decision to join the governor’s party was aimed at ensuring continuity in governance and accelerating development for the people of Osun State,” Tiamiyu’s statement partly read. Tiamiyu further stated, “The members had resigned from the PDP weeks ago,” adding that after “deep reflection and extensive consultations with supporters, political associates and key stakeholders, they resolved to align with Accord. He also said, “The lawmakers are convinced that Accord provides a more stable, inclusive and people-centred platform through which they can continue to serve the people of Osun State.” Emphasising the importance of identifying with a political party that reflects the values they hold dear, Tiamiyu said the lawmakers explained that the move was driven by a determination to advance the collective interests of the people and sustain development across the state. With the defection of the 25 PDP lawmakers, including the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, to Accord, the 26-member Osun Assembly is left with Mr Femi Popoola, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, as the only opposition lawmaker in the House.

The Ondo State Police Command on Thursday announced the arrest of six men who allegedly posed as pastors and defrauded unsuspecting residents of Idanre community in Idanre Local Government Area of the state through staged “miracles.” In a statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Kazeem, the suspects were identified simply as Fadahunsi, Kolade, Tijani, Iyanuoluwa, Arijesulola and Ademola. The police stated that the arrests followed an intelligence-driven operation conducted on February 16, 2026, by operatives of the command’s tactical teams in collaboration with Community Safety Officers. “On 16th February, 2026, operatives of the Command’s Tactical Teams, in collaboration with the Community Safety Officers, carried out a well-coordinated operation following credible information about the activities of a suspected fraud syndicate operating within Idanre and its environs,” the statement read. “The operation led to the arrest of six suspects alleged to have organised and executed fraudulent schemes targeted at unsuspecting members of the public. Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspects posed as pastors and religious leaders, staging fake miracles and spiritual interventions to gain the confidence and trust of their victims.” According to the police, the suspects allegedly exploited the faith and vulnerabilities of residents by promising divine solutions to financial difficulties, health challenges and other personal problems, only to defraud them through false pretences and related scams. The spokesperson added that investigations showed the suspects operated in a coordinated manner, assigning specific roles to members of the group to create what he described as a convincing and structured façade of legitimacy. “Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the total number of victims, determine the financial magnitude of the fraud, and identify other collaborators who may still be at large,” the statement added. The police said the suspects remain in custody and would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations. The command urged members of the public to exercise caution and due diligence, warning residents against individuals who use religion, spirituality or claims of miracles as a cover for criminal activities.
