Mustapha Sule Lamido, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Jigawa State, has urged young voters to leverage their massive population to vote out the older generation of political leaders in the 2027 general elections.

Lamido made the declaration during a sympathy visit to Sintilmawa village in the Ringim Local Government Area.

Represented by Comrade Aminu Abdullahi Ringim, Lamido asserted that Nigeria and Jigawa State urgently require a new crop of vibrant, youthful, and forward-thinking leaders who align with modern aspirations. He argued that the traditional leadership style of older politicians has consistently failed to meet the critical needs of the younger demographic.

"We are tired of the old generation`s leadership style," Lamido stated. "We need leaders who are modern, energetic, and fully understand the yearnings and aspirations of our youth."

Highlighting demographic statistics, Lamido noted that young people make up approximately 80 per cent of the total voting population. He emphasised that this overwhelming majority gives them the ultimate power to dictate the political direction of both the state and the nation.

"We possess the power to change the old order," he said. "We cannot continue allowing them to determine our future. As the majority, we must deploy our votes strategically in the 2027 elections."

Also speaking at the event, Comrade Aminu reminded the youth that the destiny of Jigawa State and Nigeria hinges on their actions, charging them to actively engage in the democratic process and rally behind candidates capable of driving genuine progress.
