The church, founded by popular cleric Pastor Jerry Eze, initiated the refund less than twenty-four hours after a video appeal posted by Okpara went viral across various social media platforms.

The predicament began on Friday when Okpara intended to make two distinct transactions using her mobile banking application. After successfully transferring a token of N1,000 as a church offering, she attempted to send over N1.6 million to a Zenith Bank account meant for business associates. In a sudden twist of events, her finger accidentally selected the church’s account details for the larger transaction, instantly moving the massive sum.

Upon realizing the gravity of her mistake through the digital transfer receipt, Okpara was thrown into a state of panic and immediate distress. She recounted rushing to the restroom in shock, overwhelmed by the realization that the money did not belong to her but to individuals she was legally obligated to pay.
