"Sex is the Secret to a Woman’s Glow," Says Nollywood Star Iyabo Ojo
Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has revealed the real reason she stepped back from public disputes and internet controversies, citing her new status as a grandmother and the need to protect her daughter’s marital peace.
Speaking as a guest on The Morayo Show, the movie star explained that her perspective changed after her daughter, Priscilla, welcomed her first child, Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, with Tanzanian musician Juma Jux.
Ojo, who recently traveled to Canada to perform the traditional Yoruba post-partum care (Omugwo), stated that continuing her outspoken public feuds could inadvertently bring stress and false allegations upon her daughter’s new family.
"I have piped down because of my grandson now," Ojo said. "My daughter is married, so when I keep fighting, the opposite side is going to come up with different false allegations, and I don’t want her going through any stress. But if the need arises for me to speak up, then I will."
The actress also sparked conversations after sharing her thoughts on what keeps women radiant and confident, dismissing the notion that happiness is strictly tied to marital status.
According to Ojo, personal fulfillment and an active sex life are the true secrets behind a woman`s youthful appearance.
"We (single mothers) are happy. I think some married women are happy too. I don’t think it’s about being single or being married. I think it’s about the person that you’re with. Sex has a lot to do with a woman’s glow. I’m getting more than enough," she revealed.
Reflecting on her journey, the actress described raising her children as a single mother and witnessing their success as her ultimate achievement, noting that she feels deeply fulfilled.
Her family-first approach was evident during Priscilla`s star-studded wedding. Ojo recalled why she consciously ensured her ex-husband played a prominent role in the cross-border ceremony. She emphasized that personal differences between parents must never be transferred to the children.
