The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 25, 2026, a public holiday across the nation to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid. The holiday is set aside to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, bringing citizens together in celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the official announcement on behalf of the Federal Government on Friday. The declaration was contained in a formal statement signed and issued by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
