Published on Wed 05 Aug 2026 By

Shock and grief have gripped the Ideani community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State following the discovery of three lifeless bodies of children at the residence of a female native doctor, popularly known as Ezenwanyi.

The deceased children, aged between 6 and 15 years, were found in the suspect`s compound located at Umuoduba village. A fourth victim discovered at the scene was found alive and rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention.

Local sources revealed that the identities of the children and the exact cause of their death remain unknown. Community members noted that the children were either working for the native doctor—who operates a local livestock farm rearing pigs and birds—or were her own offspring.

A viral social media video captured the moment law enforcement agents raided the compound and led the female suspect away.

The female native doctor has been arrested and is currently detained at the Ogidi Police Division.

While the police have moved the bodies of the three children to a mortuary for autopsy, the Anambra State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement regarding the identities of the victims or the suspect. Investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing.
