The ancient city of Ogbomoso, Oyo State, was thrown into festive celebration over the weekend as family, friends, and professional associates gathered to honor an icon of education, Evangelist Mary Abosede Abake Akinola, on her milestone 60th diamond birthday.

The grand reception, held at the Ayedun Guest House in Iresa-Pupa, Ogbomoso, was a vibrant display of culture and gratitude, featuring the energetic rolling of drums and trumpets that kept guests on their feet.

The celebrant, a distinguished and respected educator, is the Proprietress of the acclaimed Remak Group of Schools and the immediate past Chairperson of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Surulere Local Government Chapter.

Delivering a powerful sermon during the thanksgiving service, Reverend Moses Adebayo Ojelade of Ayetoro-Elesun Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, anchored his message on the scriptural text of Psalm 103:1-5.

Speaking on the moving theme "Ma Gbagbe Ore Re" (Do Not Forget His Benefits), the cleric praised Evangelist Akinola for her unwavering faith and resilience, especially after the painful demise of her husband.

Reverend Oyelade admonished the celebrant to prioritize her health, advising her to consciously scale back her rigorous daily itinerary to preserve her well-being in this new phase of life.

"Attaining the landmark age of 60 requires deep appreciation to God, and at this stage, it is crucial to give time to rest, as age is no longer on your side to maintain intense schedules," the cleric noted.

Reflecting on her journey, an emotional Evangelist Akinola shared a touching testimony of survival, recalling the bitter trial of losing her partner and successfully raising her family single-handedly through divine mercy.
