Fresh off his victory at the polls, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, describing the nation`s leader as a true "son of Osun State." Governor Adeleke made the declaration on Sunday morning shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially pronounced him the winner of the highly contested governorship election. In his acceptance speech, Adeleke, a member of the People`s Democratic Party (PDP), praised President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for ensuring a transparent electoral process. “At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr. President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election," Adeleke said. "President Tinubu is a son of Osun State, and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election." The statement follows a congratulatory message sent earlier on Sunday by President Tinubu to the re-elected governor. Official results released by INEC show that Adeleke secured his second term by defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC. Adeleke cleared 19 Local Government Areas, polling a total of 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 Local Government Areas with 444,815 votes.
