Tragedy struck the Ogun State media community in the early hours of Sunday as unidentified gunmen invaded the Kobape residence of retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, killing her and her security guard.

The assailants breached the compound in Iyana Agodo Village, Kobape, located in the Abeokuta area of the state capital, before escaping with the veteran broadcaster`s vehicle.

The bodies of the victims were discovered following an alarm raised by a vigilant neighbor who noticed suspicious movements around the property.

The Ogun State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation to track down the perpetrators.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that detectives from the Owode Egba Division were immediately dispatched to the scene.
